What does Reykjavik Museum of Photography collect?           

The Reykjavik Museum of Photography collects photographs, items and documents related to the practice of photography, by professional- and amateur photographers, who have lived and worked in the Reykjavik area. Equally, it collects and preserves photographs and documents possessed by the general public, including photo albums and other objects related to the culture of family photography.  

The Museum of Photography already has about 1.7 million photographs, in addition to a collection of photographic equipment and other articles. The museum accepts  photographs, negatives and slides, glass plates, films and digital images in addition to  photographs in frames or other items in which they are stored from businesses, public agencies and individuals for conservation.
